Robb Wexler

CEO

“Dark Side of the Moon”- Pink Floyd

There’s someone in my head but it’s not me” is a line from the album that also adorns one of Robb’s many hoodies. Robb often hears different voices in his head…mostly creatives ones along with ones that say “Will one more candy bar hurt?”

In 1988, after years in radio and then the monitoring industry, that same voice said “You need to start a monitoring firm that does what all the other monitoring firms do not do.”  Though that phrase is not on any hoodie, it is the same thought that has motivated him day in and day out for over 30 years.

It also drove him to commission the proprietary creation of a ground-breaking audio listening system (TruText™) that eliminate the gibberish manuscripts that result from the “speech to text” audio system used by everyone else in the industry.

His inner voice often has conversations with the voice from the movie, “Field of Dreams” at company meetings. It’s actually quite entertaining, or at least that’s what some of the cast from the movie, “A Beautiful Mind” have told him.

Robb is also co-founder of “The Wexler Group”, a political media research company that has frustrated people on both sides of the political aisle for 20 years. Robb considers this a skill set.

Joe Gabriele

Production Director

“Paul’s Boutique” – Beastie Boys

Growing up in Chicago in the early 80’s Joe was exposed to all kinds of music. His parents were very much into dancing and both loved singing, not to mention his older brothers and sister had very unique tastes of their own.  His first concert he attended was Run-DMC’s Raising Hell Tour which featured the Beastie Boys as the opening act.

Joe loved how both groups were able to combine sounds from different styles into one harmonic landscape.  The hard drums, the syncopated vocals, it was intoxicating to the ears.  So when the time came for the Beastie’s follow-up in 1989, Joe bought Paul’s Boutique the very day it was released. The amalgamation of sounds that would make up The Beastie Boys sonic palette was so intriguing. Never before had Joe thought you can combine all of these different sounds and elements into one cohesive album.  Eventually Joe’s love for music and sounds got him into DJing, and eventually working in Broadcasting and Production.

With such a busy yet focused mind, the sonic recipe of Paul’s Boutique is very much how Joe is in life.  There is not one thing that can define him but instead a cumulation of different things that come together to work as one. Needing to constantly keep his mind stimulated, National Aircheck was a natural fit for Joe. Being in Production allows him to take on multiple facets of audio and video projects, and come up with cutting edge and innovative ideas.

Joe is always testing out new and improved ways to perform searches and deliver content to clients.  In an environment where technology is changing by the day, feel comfortable with someone that can adapt with those changes and even stay one step ahead of them.

Leah Keese

Research Director & Platform Administrator

“Escape” – Journey

Leah never set out to be an 80s rock star but, inspired by Journey, and her need to escape, she is slowly getting there. Maybe, before old age and ennui set in, she will achieve the dream to have a 2 ft rainbow mohawk. Adorned with fiery red hair and clothes as bright as Journey’s album cover, she navigates the (sadly) not very often seedy underbelly of research. As her keys fly across the keyboard (when her cats aren’t using it as a bed), she can find anything, anywhere.

Leah started off on her Journey in the navy during Desert Storm, a strange place to escape to be sure. During that time, she learned (or at least the Navy really tried) discipline and work ethic. After the Navy, still looking to escape, she tried several different paths including managing a collection agency and learning skip tracing.

After about 10 years, she went back into the military just after 9/11 but this time to the Army. During that time, she earned 2 degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice both with an emphasis in abnormal behavior. She still marvels at how handy that has become nowadays. Though her chief ambition is to one day control the entire Internet, Leah busies herself in the meantime running National Aircheck’s platform, planning and producing spreadsheets in the blink of an eye, and finding anything and everything.

Originally from D.C. she relocated to Texas in 2012 because she thought it would be nicer to look at longhorns while stuck in traffic.

Ashley Bihun

Account Coordinator

“Self-Titled” – Sugar Ray

This album came out in 2001 when Ashley was only 4 years old, she heard her first song from the album when she was 5 and she has been hooked ever since. Ashley was so obsessed with the band (and Mark McGrath) that her mother finally bought her the CD. That CD still to this day holds a spot in her car’s CD holder despite all the scratches from years of playing. When Ashley was 17, more than a decade later, she finally got to see the band (and more importantly, Mark McGrath) live! It was truly a night she’d never forget.

Ashley didn’t choose the radio life….the radio life chose her!! Throughout Ashley’s whole life she was constantly listening to music, singing and dancing.

She loves music and in every car ride, her parents always had the radio on. When she was in high school some of her friends joined Radio Club, which Ashley only joined because they did. Little did she know that this was going to lead her to the rest of her life. She attended Lewis University and was first enrolled in the university’s Chemistry program.

In an attempt to branch out and make new friends she decided to sign up for the intro to radio class because she had done radio in high school and thought it would be an easy ‘A’. After her first day of class she went straight to her advisor and changed her major to Broadcast Communications and the rest is history.

She now works as the Supervising Producer for WGN Radio in Chicago, and moonlights as an Account Coordinator with National Aircheck. She’s the same old Sugar Ray fan at heart.

VP of Operations

“Songs in the Key of Life” – Stevie Wonder

Joe was a rebel. Although he grew up listening to only what his parents allowed in the house, mostly Christian and Gospel, he would sneak a listen to the local rock station whenever the parental units were away (yeah, he was a big SNL fan, too).

His rebellion blossomed fully when he got his driver’s license at age 16, allowing him to listen to the devil’s music whenever he wanted, in the solitude of his ’71 Super Beetle. And this is where he first heard singles from Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life.” When he bought the double album (with bonus tracks), Joe discovered the full breadth of Wonder’s genius.

Joe had dreamed of working in radio from age 10, so when it came time to pick a university, he chose one with a broadcast department. He landed his first full time radio gig even before graduating and went on to work in local radio and television news in his native Tulsa, Oklahoma.

His broadcasting career evolved into public relations work, which led him to create Oklahoma’s first media monitoring firm. He became a leader in the regional monitoring industry before joining what was then the nation’s dominant TV monitoring company in the 90s and early 2000s. He turned to international consulting, doing tours in East Africa and the Caribbean, before joining National Aircheck as VP of Operations. He’s been here since 2016, and contributed to the design of National Aircheck’s one-of-a-kind, infinitely scalable, radio and podcast monitoring platform.

Linda Waltz

Business Manager

“Tropico” – Gato Barbieri

For Linda, the “Tropico” album has stood the test of time, much the way she has done with National Aircheck. Though a 20 year veteran of our team, Linda has an incredibly youthful appearance. This is likely the result of decades as a competitive volleyball player.

Her dedication to the sport has resulted in two gold medals in the Senior Olympic Games as well as gold medal fudge brownies for our staff. Her dedication to the sport (and the brownies) is a strong reflection of who Linda is overall.

This dedication has made her a valuable part of managing all of the business aspects of our company – from human resources, to account services and billing.  She even once worked out a payment plan with a client who owed us $1.48.

Frances Brown

Marketing Director

Jock Jams

Frances… aka Frankie, spends most of her time developing marketing tools to reach current and future National Aircheck clients. Her other tools include a six-inch garden chainsaw that she wields like Michael Myers. She’s getting a hockey mask for Christmas. We keep our distance.

A mother of 3 boys and 3 dogs (all rescues) and the wife of an army veteran. She was raised by a mother who weened her on rock n roll and dancing.

Chris Scardina

IT

“1984” – Van Halen

Calmer downer of the CEO… and also IT.

Whether it’s figuring out tech issues around the country or adding 3,020 gigs of RAM to the CEO’s computer (which is now the size of a Buick), Chris is the guy who makes sure everything works at the company.

He also has a really cool pool in his backyard which his huskies love on a hot day… as does the rest of the National Aircheck staff.

Chris and the CEO will do shots of cherry flavored Hint water at a moment’s notice.
